Advice for Older Unemployed
Created by: Marce Colucci, 30 May 2012
This group is dedicated to all those more mature people who are no longer in full time employment, but still need to generate income. We aim to share suggestions and advice on ways to put our years of experience to good use to create viable and sustained incomes.
Unemployment rates continue to climb, and the over 50s seems to be one of the most at risk age groups. As many of us are approaching the 'golden years' of our lives, expecting to enjoy more time of leisure, we are forced to now secure new sources of income just to maintain a lifestyle that is slowly slipping away. This group is here to help. We are all experienced and mature contributors, who have years of experience. Many of us have been faced with the loss of full time employment, and have come out the other side with new sources of income and revenues. We are here to share the lessons learned and to give advice on how to find and approach new opportunities. We can advice on anything from preparing for a new job to starting your own business. We share our personal experiences and also offer professional suggestions dealing with recruitment, company formation, taxation and anything to do with starting a new job, career or business.
