: Francis House unveils its Festival of Trees with a little help from Kirsty Howard and Mike Sweeney!
Created by: events events, 03 November 2011
For the fifth year running, Francis House Children’s Hospice will hold its annual ‘Festival of Trees’ at the Lowry Outlet Mall. This year is set to be a big one, with lots of local and national companies and organisations signed up to donate and decorate a collection of Christmas trees.
The pop-up shop, located on the first floor next to Past Times, will soon be bustling with shoppers as it opens its doors on Sunday 6th November, to reveal its collection of stunning Christmas trees, adorned with festive treats. Visitors are encouraged to put in an offer for their favourite tree, the winning bids will provide the much needed funds for the children’s hospice and winning bidders will be rewarded with their tree of choice! This year the magic grotto will display an array of sponsored trees, from Manchester United souvenir signed trees to trees decorated entirely with goodies made out of sweets! Soap fans should checkout the tree, which the cast and crew of Coronation Street has decorated and signed! Beauty lovers would be daft not to put in an offer for the L’Oreal tree or the Mall’s very own Fibre Hairdressing tree; both packed full of hair styling and electrical goodies. Other trees include one from toy company Hasbro, a John Lewis tree and a celebratory-themed tree from Perfect Parties and Weddings. In addition, Beaver Road Primary School has kindly donated a tree, which features more than a hundred hand decorated hangings. David Woodrow, from the charity, commented, “We are really excited to announce this years ‘Festival of Trees’, at the Lowry Outlet Mall. Last year we raised an amazing £25,000 for the charity and we hope to top that this year. The trees look fantastic and we have lots more companies on board this year, all of which have been so very generous. Our pop up shop provides an attraction for shoppers, which allows them to bid on high quality trees and support the Francis House charity.” The Lowry Outlet Mall is the perfect place to make your money go further this Christmas.
