Teens find vaping to be very stylish and less injurious as compared with traditional cigarettes and therefore take on to it very easily. Teens find vaping to be very stylish and less injurious as compared with traditional cigarettes and therefore take on to it very easily. However, the risk factor in vaping still remains though it is significantly less when you compare it with the traditional cigarettes. This is because the traditional cigarettes contain a huge amount of nicotine in the tobacco in it.

On the other hand, the vaping devices come with a canister of sorts that is filled with the vaping liquid. This liquid is considered to have very low traces of nicotine, reducing the risks but not eliminating it completely.

However, according to recent studies and researches, the use of e-cigarettes is surging exponentially among American teenagers. It is often seen that kids flirting with nicotine addiction on the streets, nooks and corners vaping regularly. Unfortunately for them, it will be very hard to face the uphill rocky road when they try to give up their nicotine habit as per the experts. They have a few specific reasons to believe so.

·         Just like the traditional cigarettes, there are no tried, tested and established or approved methods in which you can quit smoking these e-cigarettes. There is no surprise in this considering the science of vaping cessation. This has not really caught up with the exponential rise in the use of it and therefore falls behind. Moreover, experts say that there really is not much proof out there that will change this current trend and raise the number of quitters than smokers.

·         It is believed that the teens that are addicted to vaping must be provided with proven methods that have actually helped the traditional tobacco smokers to quit smoking. However, even if such methods are designed and given to them there is no guarantee or test to prove that these methods will be as effective for the e-cigarette smokers as it is for the traditional cigarette smokers.

This fact is shocking to the believers that e-cigarettes are the perfect solution to reduce traditional cigarette smoking and reduce the number of teen smokers. The final destination seemed to be so close but proved to be too far in the end. Though the teens now are not interested in traditional cigarette smoking, but now they have this new way to get addicted to nicotine using KYLÉ CBD pods and others which the experts think is hard to go away very soon.

Addiction is the primary concern

Though it is scientifically proved that CBD has a lot of health benefits but it is the over dosage that concerns the experts as it may lead to addiction once again.

Several studies and federal survey show that nearly two out of every five high school seniors have tried e-cigarettes during the past year. It says that:

·         37% of 12thgraders said they had vaped in 2018 and

·         28% vaped in 2017.

The rise in percentage rings the alarm bells as several of the 12th graders who have vaped have also admitted their addiction to e-cigarettes now.

It is found that teenagers who vape regularly number hundreds of thousands and are highly likely to be hooked on nicotine. In an attempt to put in legal and regulatory affairs to ensure tobacco-free kids, all seems to be very experimental.

As per the data available, it shows that around 800,000 to 900,000 kids who use these e-cigarettes are using them on a regular basis. They often take it 20 days in a month and this is certainly not experimental. This is a certain proof of mass addiction. In turn, it is affecting the health of the entire young generation.

The US Food and Drug Administration is concerned about this rise in teen vapers and even held a public hearing asking the expert to opine on the strategies or treatments that might help the teens to quit vaping. They even are on the lines of contemplating a potential and traditional drug therapy which is surprising enough of an attempt to help the addicted young people to quit smoking e-cigarettes.

The health risks

Experts found that e-cigarettes contain a large amount of nicotine as opposed to the ads and commercials. There are several reasons for such concerns and worries.

Considering the fact that it is really hard to keep a track by the kids as to how much they have consumed, they are not knowledgeable about their potential health risks. It is this concern that is most worrying as it will surely lead the kids to addiction and they will eventually start smoking.

In addition to that when the available evidences are taken into consideration the experts also noticed that the kids who have taken to vaping are four times more likely to go on and finally take on smoking combustible tobacco as compared to those kids who do not vape.

Nicotine replacement therapy

It is also believed that nicotine replacement therapy is ideally a cornerstone for the adults who want to give up smoking. This however is not as effective on kids as it is on them. The primary reason behind this is that the gum, lozenges and patches are readily available only to the adults over the counter and not to the kids who are under 18 years of age. This inaccessibility results in the failure of the nicotine replacement therapy as far as the kids are concerned.

Usually, to reduce the health risks among the teens who are addicted to nicotine, doctors may prescribe nicotine replacement therapy off-label. However, once again there are no significant evidences that these therapies are equally affective on teens as these are on the adults.

To some extent, these therapies can be helpful even for those adults who use antidepressants for quitting smoking. However, these medications can prove to be adverse to the health of kids when these are tried on them. Moreover, there is another significant risk of using antidepressants for kids. It is found through studies that these antidepressants can increase the suicidal thoughts in kids.

It is for this reason the in most of the times doctors suggest for a smoking cessation program.
