Being an adult for a long time and being a father for a long period as well, I remeber very good all the things I had researched and learned about babies and taking care of them, especially giving them the right food. It's a good thing to revoke memories so here is some knowledge I collected about boosting child's immune system with proper food.
Babies are amazing to take care of and as you see them grow, the joy they bring to our lives is immeasurable. However, there are those moments when they can drive us crazy especially when they start catching colds and driving us into sleepless nights. It is important to take care of your baby’s immune system as this is the only way you can keep opportune diseases away from them. Boasting your baby’s immune system will help them fight diseases and stay healthy all through. Although there are different ways to stimulate baby’s immune system, giving them the right foods is always top on the list. Below are some foods that you can give to your baby to help them stay healthy.
Fruit purees are very important not only for babies but also for adults as they are low in both fat and calories. In addition, these foods are rich in minerals, vitamins and other beneficial nutrients. Fruit purees have a high concentration of antioxidants which are well suited to boost your baby’s immunity while at the same time neutralizing free radicals responsible for damaging the body cells. You could have fruits such as strawberries, bananas and papayas among others as part of your baby’s diet.
Foods rich in Vitamin A
Foods rich in vitamin A are very important as they help normalize the response of your baby’s immune system to infections. Vitamin A also helps in development and growth of cells while at the same time enhancing the health of their skin. Some of the amazing sources of vitamin A include leafy greens, cantaloupe, butternut squash and apricots. Adding flax seed to the baby’s food can help double the immunity boost.
Omega 3 Fatty Acids
Your baby’s immune system can get a great boost from the addition of Omega 3 fatty acids. The baby’s food does not produce Omega 3 fatty acids and supplementing it in your baby will go a long way in helping them live healthy and strong. The essential fatty acid is available from breast milk but you can also give foods such as beans, eggs, canola oil, fish and flax among others. Flax is specifically rich in Omega 3 and can be sprinkled on yogurt and vegetable or fruit purees. It’s rich in fiber and you should give your baby plenty of fluids.
Babies are normally exposed to the use of antibiotics which are culpable for killing the probiotics which are a healthy bacteria needed for stimulating immune system. Probiotics are essential for regulating the internal and intestine immune system thus helping the body to fight diseases better. You should give foods such as buttermilk, yogurt, fruit juice and ice cream among others.
Babies should also be breastfed regularly as this is a great way of helping boost their immune system naturally. It is also important to give the different supplementary food in proper proportions as some could lead to undesirable weight gain if eaten excessively, states in the publication of Croatian baby food experts. You should also reduce the amount of sweeteners and sugars given to your baby as these can lower the potency of white blood cells which are responsible for their immunity.
