Creative activities for seniors and kids

Often, when our children are with an older person, whether they are our parents or grandparents or the people we care for, they feel they have nothing to do or say and end up spending time in front of the television.
And yet, there are things they can do with the kids that will entertain them and really connect with them! How about these ideas?
Discovering the box of old photos or the family album, children and the elderly can dive into the magic of nostalgia. Each image is a story, and more senior people love to tell stories. In addition to giving them a chance to remember the old days, and feel that someone wants to hear their stories, think about how many things your children will learn. In the end, will you hear the children say in suspense to them the well-known phrase: "And what happened next"? A picture is a thousand words, they say, especially when these stories are taken out of real life.
Colouring books for young and old
This trend is continually gaining ground! Children who spend their time drawing sketches, giving life to drawings know definitely something. Colouring books have evolved so much that they have become the new trend of many adults who use this way to unwind and relax. In fact, there are books for the elderly with large drawings so that they can quickly draw them if they're having troubles with their eyesight. Put on some music, let your children choose the designs they like, pick up the markers and let them relax, painting with an older adult! And don't forget to stick the designs on the fridge with a magnet!
Grandmothers, even grandparents, have well-kept secrets and know recipes that will surprise you! Please encourage them to cook with your children their favourite recipe, get the necessary ingredients and give them the joy to make a meal or dessert together in their own way! And children can learn the secrets of the old - and perhaps more delicious than today - cuisine, and they will feel that they are still useful and have things to give to future generations. So the sense of taste may change over the years for everyone, but the need for a delicious meal is always there.
Although this is an activity that can bring your children closer to an older one, let them relax and spend time together happily! Let them choose puzzles with bigger and numerous pieces so that it takes longer to complete, so they'll always have something waiting for them so that time can flow creatively when they are together.
Walking and outdoor activities with children, not only opens the appetite for food, but it also opens the mood for communication while it also has an antidepressant effect for the elderly. A walk of your children in the park with their grandparents, or even an outdoor game in which they will all participate, can definitely make their day. An exciting activity that will not exhaust the elderly but at the same time will keep the children interested is definitely mini golf.
With the various and varied mini-golf courses that exist in different parts of every city, it is an excellent choice for the elderly who would like to do a pleasant and at the same time a cool activity with them. The various inclines, the imaginative scenery and the obstacles on a mini-golf course will excite both young and old. If you are in the London area, Plonk Golf has four different mini-golf spots that cater for all needs, with beautifully designed hills for the youth and pleasant places for the elderly, so that everyone can enjoy a day full of laughter and play!
