When it comes to anti-aging, there are many myths and beliefs that can be so confusing. How does one prevent premature aging? Are there ways to delay it?

It's difficult to know what's true and what a myth is when it comes to aging. Understandably, everyone wants to delay aging, but what is the best and wisest advise to follow? These 5 anti-aging myths will help you make sound choices when it comes to your anti-aging regimen.

1. Water will Prevent Skin from Aging

Contrary to this, it is important to keep hydrated. Drinking plenty of water will not prevent wrinkles. Wrinkles are caused by sun exposure, diet, genetics and age. Water is essential to a healthy body and healthy skin, but it will not prevent wrinkles.

2. After a Certain Age, You Don't Need Sunscreen

This isn't true at all. Exposure to the sun can create wrinkles at any age. The sun damages skin, which leaves it more susceptible to cracking and wrinkling. The sun can also cause brown spots on the face and hands.

3. You Don't Need Sunscreen on a Cloudy Day

The visible rays of the sun are not the problem when it comes to aging. According to American Scientist, ultraviolet A and B rays are the ones that will damage the skin. UV rays penetrate the clouds so you're not being protected unless you use a sunscreen with UV protection.

4. You Need Expensive Moisturizers to Combat Wrinkles and Aging

While moisturizers are great for the skin, expensive is not necessarily the best. What is important is to choose which product combats wrinkles and aging.
